A dump trailer is the right tool for a big job you're willing to load yourself. It's the wrong tool for one mattress. We offer three ways to get rid of things, and the cheapest one depends entirely on what and how much you have.
Option one: single-item pickup, $89 flat
One bulky thing — a couch, a mattress, a fridge, a treadmill, a hot tub. We come, we load it, we haul it. No minimum, no rental period, you don't lift anything. If you genuinely have one item, this is the answer and a trailer would be a waste of money.
Option two: crew removal, $48 per man-hour
For a full cleanout where you don't want to do the work. The crew loads everything and leaves the space broom-clean. There is a 4-hour minimum. It suits estate cleanouts, hoarding situations, rental turnovers, and anyone with a bad back or no time. Contact us with photos for an estimate and to get on the schedule.
Option three: the 10-yard trailer, $375 a week
Free delivery, free pickup, one ton of weight included. You load it on your own schedule across the week. If you have a garage, a shed, a remodel or a yard's worth of material and a couple of helpers, this is by far the lowest cost per cubic yard.
Where people get it wrong
- Renting a trailer for two pieces of furniture, then having it sit in the driveway mostly empty
- Booking single-item pickups three weekends in a row when one trailer would have cleared the lot
- Assuming a crew cleanout is expensive without pricing the hours — a small, well-organized job is often two people for the minimum
- Forgetting that a trailer still needs someone to load it, in Florida heat, with the sides four feet high
Mixing the options
The combination that works best for a lot of homeowners: rent the trailer, load the easy stuff yourself, and have the crew come for the heavy or awkward items — the piano, the hot tub, the cast-iron tub, the pile of concrete. You pay crew hours for the part that needs a crew and nothing more.
Three jobs, three answers
Real examples from the kind of calls we take across Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco make the choice clearer than any rule.
- A townhome in Largo with a sleeper sofa the new couch is replacing. One item, awkward, heavy, upstairs. Single-item pickup at the flat $89. A trailer would sit in a shared lot for a week doing nothing.
- A three-bedroom house in Dunedin after a parent has passed, full to the closets, and a family that lives out of state and has one weekend. Crew removal at $48 per man-hour with a 4-hour minimum. Nobody has to lift anything, and the house is clear when they fly home.
- A Palm Harbor garage plus a shed, a family with two teenagers and a free week. The 10-yard trailer at $375, loaded a bit each evening, called in for free pickup on Saturday. Lowest cost per yard of anything we offer.
A quick way to decide
Count what needs to go and ask two questions. Can you list everything on one hand? Single-item pickup, or a short crew visit if it's two or three. Would you rather not walk into the space at all? Crew. Is it a room or more, and are you willing to load it over several days? The trailer. If you are between two answers, send photos to (727) 779-8919 and we'll say which one we would pick for our own house.
Frequently asked questions
Does single-item pickup cover two items?
The flat rate is for one bulky item. For several, tell us what they are and we'll quote either an hourly crew visit or, if it's enough, a trailer.
Can the crew load a trailer I rented?
Yes. Crew loading on a rental is $48 per man-hour. Many people book the trailer and add a few hours of crew time for the heavy pieces.
Which is fastest?
Single-item pickup is usually the quickest to schedule. A trailer arrives on the date you book and gives you the whole week.
